New Partnership Extends Critical Financial Assistance and Supportive Services, Enhancing Care and Treatment Accessibility for Those Battling Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder
June 4, 2024 — The Sumaira Foundation (TSF) is excited to announce a new partnership with Good Days to help provide financial assistance and support services for patients and caregivers or loved ones living with neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) in the United States.
Good Days is a national nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization that lifts the burdens of chronic illness through assistance, advocacy, and awareness. Since 2003, Good Days has provided more than two million grants and distributed over $3 billion in assistance to help people get access to the healthcare treatments they need. Good Days offers a variety of programs, including premium, copayment and travel assistance. You can learn more information about the NMOSD Financial Assistance program here.
TSF Founder Sumaira Ahmed says, “TSF understands the financial burden patients face and are always excited to work with patient support programs, such as Good Days that provides funds for the rare diseases we advocate for. It is of utmost importance for patients who have been diagnosed with NMOSD to start and continue on a treatment plan to prevent relapses.”

To be eligible for financial assistance, patients must:
● Be diagnosed with neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD)
● Have a valid Social Security number and receive treatment in the United States
● Seek assistance for a prescribed treatment that is FDA approved to treat NMOSD
● Have valid insurance coverage
● Be at or below 500% of the federal poverty level
