November 15, 2023 — In October 2023, Clarinda Cerejo, TSF Ambassador of India and NMOSD patient, traveled from Mumbai, India to Prague, Czech Republic, to graduate from the Patient Expert Training Programme conducted by the European Patients’ Academy on Therapeutic Innovation (EUPATI).
EUPATI’S The Patient Expert Programme is an 11-month intensive course involving over 200 hours of self-paced, online classroom, and in-person learning. The course is designed to equip patients with the knowledge and skills required to get involved in medicines research and development.
The comprehensive course curriculum touches on all concepts related to pharmaceutical R&D, including but not limited to:
Clarinda’s new Patient Expert certification will allow TSF to collaborate more closely with industry, clinical trial investigators, and regulators and play a role patient need analyses, reviewing trial protocols, identifying patient-relevant outcomes and adherence measures, reviewing publications and patient information, and producing and distributing plain-language summaries for patients.
Clarinda was the only Indian among 80 participants in this cohort of the Patient Expert Programme.
We are so proud of Clarinda and excited to have her represent TSF in new R&D collaborations toward achieving a deeper understanding of NMOSD and MOGAD and ultimately better patient outcomes.
