On March 24, 2018, The Sumaira Foundation for NMO hosted its 3rd Annual NMO Awareness Gala at the Mandarin Oriental, Boston.
15% increase in ticket sales = 15% increase in awareness
$37K+ raised, a 57% increase from 2017
50+ donors, sponsors, vendors, and volunteers who contributed to our collective impact
-NMO Global Atlas, a document that will allow for better advocacy to major international stakeholders so that health professionals can improve the lives of people with NMO, no matter where they live! (collaboration with Farrah Mateen, MD, PhD, neurologist at Massachusetts General Hospital)
–Ann Romney Center for Neurological Diseases at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where a group of neurologists are working on a study to use Immune Tolerance to prevent NMO attacks, and retrain the immune system to no longer attack the brain and spinal cord.
