On Friday, September 8, 2023, we were honored to celebrate 9 years of The Sumaira Foundation alongside many of the leading neuroimmunologists and researchers who were in Boston for the 2nd MOGAD Symposium* organized by Dr. Michael Levy, Chairman of TSF’s international Medical Advisory Board.
With the funds raised from this event, TSF is sponsoring João Vitor Mahler Ferreira Oliveira, MD candidate at the University of São Paulo, for a post-doctoral fellowship under the mentorship of Dr. Michael Levy and Dr. Marcelo Matiello at Massachusetts General Hospital / Harvard Medical School. Beginning in 2024, his research will primarily focus on double seronegative neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder.
TSF’s anniversary event was made possible with support from Horizon Therapeutics.
*The 2nd MOGAD Symposium was held from September 7-9, 2023 at the Harvard Faculty Club in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where 100+ key opinion leaders from around the world convened to advance research and care. This meeting was organized by The Neuroimmunology Clinic & Research Laboratory at Massachusetts General Hospital / Harvard Medical School and made possible with support from The Sumaira Foundation, SRNA, The Guthy-Jackson Charitable Foundation, The MOG Project, Roche, Sanofi and UCB.
