New Partnership Extends Critical Financial Assistance and Supportive Services, Enhancing Care and Treatment Accessibility for Those Battling Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder
June 4, 2024 — The Sumaira Foundation (TSF) is excited to announce a new partnership with Good Days to help provide financial assistance and support services for patients and caregivers or loved ones living with neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) in the United States.
Good Days is a national nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization that lifts the burdens of chronic illness through assistance, advocacy, and awareness. Since 2003, Good Days has provided more than two million grants and distributed over $3 billion in assistance to help people get access to the healthcare treatments they need. Good Days offers a variety of programs, including premium, copayment and travel assistance. You can learn more information about the NMOSD Financial Assistance program here.
TSF Founder Sumaira Ahmed says, “TSF understands the financial burden patients face and are always excited to work with patient support programs, such as Good Days that provides funds for the rare diseases we advocate for. It is of utmost importance for patients who have been diagnosed with NMOSD to start and continue on a treatment plan to prevent relapses.”
“Our partnership with The Sumaira Foundation marks a significant milestone in our mission to support those living with neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder,” adds Clorinda Walley, president of Good Days. “By collaborating, we are not just sharing resources but also multiplying our impact on the lives of patients and their families. Together, we will ensure that no one has to face the financial hurdles of treatment alone, empowering them to focus on their health and well-being.”
“We are delighted to join forces with The Sumaira Foundation, a fellow advocate for individuals battling rare diseases,” says Randie Odebralski, COO of Good Days. “This collaboration enables us to extend our reach and enhance our support services, ensuring that more people have the financial backing they need to access essential treatments. It’s about giving hope and practical help to those who need it most.”
To be eligible for financial assistance, patients must:
● Be diagnosed with neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD)
● Have a valid Social Security number and receive treatment in the United States
